Ditch the Dinner Reservation: The Ultimate Valentine’s Adventure Date

This year, swap the crowded restaurant for the open ocean. Discover why a trip to the UNESCO Biosphere is the perfect way to bond this Valentine’s Day.

Let’s be honest: the standard Valentine’s Day formula is getting a little tired. You know the drill: fighting for a reservation, shouting over a crowded dining room, and paying a premium for a set menu.

This year, Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday (Feb 14th), giving you the perfect excuse to break the mold. Instead of just sitting across a table from each other, why not share an experience that actually gets your heart racing?

At Vancouver Water Adventures, we believe shared adrenaline creates the best connections. Here is why you should take your date to the water this year.

Explore the UNESCO Biosphere & Bowen Island

Nothing says romance like escaping the city noise and immersing yourself in the stunning nature of the Pacific Northwest. Our Bowen Island & Howe Sound Fjord tour takes you deep into North America’s southernmost fjord.

You and your partner will cruise past towering cliffs, spot seal colonies basking on the rocks, and look out for bald eagles. It’s a chance to see the region’s incredible biodiversity up close. There is something undeniably romantic about feeling small next to the massive mountains of the sound: it’s a memory you’ll talk about a lot longer than a steak dinner.

The 12:00 PM “Day Date” Advantage

Since we aren’t running evening tours this time of year, our 12:00 PM departure is the sweet spot for a Saturday date.

A noon adventure allows you to enjoy the warmest part of the day on the water. Plus, it sets a fun, energetic tone for the rest of your celebration. You’ll be back at Granville Island by the afternoon, flushed with fresh air and adrenaline, with plenty of time to grab a cozy coffee or head to an early dinner afterward.

Memories Over Materials

Chocolates get eaten, and flowers wilt, but an adventure on the coast lasts forever. Plus, let’s not forget the photo ops. There is nothing quite as cute (or West Coast authentic) as a couple’s selfie in our matching red Mustang survival suits. And don’t worry about the February chill, those suits will keep you warm, dry, and cozy while you hold on tight.

Make this Valentine’s Day one for the books. Spaces for our Saturday, Feb 14th, tours are limited. Surprise your partner with a date they won’t see coming.
