Frequently asked questions
What should I wear?
You are welcome to wear whatever you feel comfortable in! We recommend dressing in layers, avoiding cotton/denim if possible, and wearing clothing that you are okay with getting wet. Workout clothes are usually a great option! We also recommend bringing a change of warm clothes to wear after your tour.
Do I need to have kayaking experience?
The Light the Night Tour takes place in the dark on a relatively populated waterway. For safety, we recommend guests on the Light the Night Tour to have paddled before. However, our guides are certified kayak instructors and are happy to provide tips and tricks before the tour and help on the water. You can also book a kayak lesson with us prior to your tour if you'd like more in-depth instruction and experience on the water.
Do I have to wear a wetsuit while out on the water?
We have wetsuits available for you to wear, however they are not mandatory. We recommend bringing gear that can get wet, and a change of clothes.
Is there parking available?
Paid parking is available throughout Granville Island near our office. There’s lots of space but on the weekends it can fill up, so plan to arrive a little early. Want to skip the hassle? You can easily catch a 10-15 min Uber or taxi from any hotel downtown!
Will it be wavy or rough on the water?
By sticking to only calm and protected waterways, we very rarely encounter rough water or wavy conditions.
